Glowing, gorgeous, oyster-made orbs are wonderful, but PURLS are a thing of beauty too. The purl stitch is actually just the reverse of the knit stitch (detailed in this video), and as shown in Truro, it is possible to knit a whole garment without a single purl. Many people don't enjoy purling as much as knitting, so I've made a video detailing a few ways you can make the stitch, and comparing the speed of two different styles of purling. Watch it here, and test your fine-tuned purl skills with this week's free pattern, Moppet.
This precious little swing coat has seed stitch accents at the collar and hem. Ribbing at the shoulder evokes the antique look of smocking.
