Twisting it up
We were putting the finishing touches on sweaters before a photography session when Norah asked me to twist a cord for use as a drawstring. After admitting that I’d never twisted a cord before, I decided that my first attempt would be a practice run. Fully prepared to make an uneven, lumpy cord, I followed the instructions and was amazed by how easy it was. The twisting process basically takes care of itself, so it yields a smooth, beautiful twist every time.
This week’s free pattern, Sassafras, features a twisted cord drawstring at the neckline. Worked in a gorgeous heathered shade of Vintage®, it’s the perfect opportunity to try out your twisting skills. For a demo on making a twisted cord, check out our video.
