Learn a New Finishing Technique

There are many details to consider when designing and knitting a pattern, from the shape of your piece and pattern stitches to the finishing. In my opinion, the finishing is especially important. Sometimes a pattern calls for a rolled edge, but many knitted garments and accessories need a special finish along hems, necklines and other edges to help the fabric lay flat. This week’s free pattern, Mallow, features lace that is picked up and knit along the sides of the cardigan – making it decorative and functional.
