Loosen up...

Completing a knitted piece is a wonderful feeling of accomplishment—wonderful, until you try to pull on a sock and you can’t get it over your heel or a sweater with a neckline that’s too tight for comfort. You realize you were so excited to finish your piece that you bound off a bit hastily. I’ve experienced a few of these knitting disasters, but the good news is that there are ways to avoid it! One of my favorite methods is using a larger needle in your bind off. It’s a simple switch that creates extra flexibility for your edge. It works especially well for necklines, blankets, scarves, lace projects and toe-up socks. Got a nearly finished project on your needles? Follow along with my how-to video. It will come in handy when you’re done knitting this week’s free pattern, Saurey.
