How-to Video - Bind Off Strategies

When making your own clothes, the beauty comes from the details, especially the finishing. Choosing the right bind off for a piece is just as important as all of the hard work leading up to it. This week's free pattern, Codona, was designed by Alison Green with a collar worked in garter stitch. It requires a unique bind off so that the collar has flexibility and will flat. Alison finished her sweater by repeating the following pattern: bind off two stitches, yarn over your right needle and bind off that yarn over.

There are a few other options for a loose bind off that we also have videos for. You can use a larger needle than you used for the rest of your project or use a sewn bind off.

This cozy sweater is worked from the top down with set in sleeves, which are constructed with short rows knit after picking up stitches around the armhole.
