Wrapping Up Our Odora KAL

We’re wrapping up our Odora Shawl KAL this week, and we’re so excited to finish our shawls! Three of us in the Berroco Design office knit this shawl; I used the Berroco Folio® called for in the pattern, Donna used Berroco Corsica™ in a beautiful shade of blue, and Amy Christoffers knit her Odora in Amano Yarns Ayni. Ayni is a blend of 80% baby alpaca and 20% silk in a sport weight yarn. Like Folio, Ayni has great drape and knits up as a fluid fabric, and can be easily used in place of Folio—both yarns have nearly the same yardage (they're off by one yard) and a similar gauge when knit.

Berroco is the sole distributor of Amano Yarns, and we cherish any opportunity we have to knit with any of these incredible alpaca yarns, sourced and spun in the stunning mountains of Peru. Apu is 100% imperial alpaca—the finest alpaca fiber available, these tiny little balls of yarn are so amazingly soft and delightful to knit. Mayu blends alpaca, cashmere, and silk for a luxurious knitting experience. The lofty Puyu blends baby alpaca and silk into a fluffy, bulky yarn, ideal for quick, cozy projects. Puna is 100% baby alpaca dyed in slightly heathered colors. Warmi combines baby alpaca and merino wool for a soft worsted-weight yarn.
