If one of your New Year's goals is to learn new crafting technique, Berroco's YouTube channel is here to help.

We know how much having someone sitting next to you, demonstrating how to work a knitting or crochet technique can help you overcome hurdles and tackle projects. Since we can't actually go to your house to show you in person, our video tutorials are the next best thing.

We published 50 new videos in 2016. Of those, 23 videos were 360º videos that show off each garment pattern. See all of the Fall/Winter 2016 360º videos in this playlist. But the most viewed videos this year were our technique videos, starting with How to Work a Knitted-On Edging.

How to Work a Knitted on Edging
Knitted-on edgings can add lovely details in finishing, such as the edging worked in the Lilla Shawl.
Our second most-viewed video published this year was How to Finish Gloves and Mittens. Emily made this video to demonstrate how to easily close up the gap that can occur when working the thumbs of mittens, or fingers of gloves.

Also popular this year was the How to Carry Yarn Up the Side video. This video was made to help anyone knitting the free Jeanie sweater knitting pattern

This technique is handy whenever you're making stripes.
We shared crochet videos as well, including How to Change Colors in Crochet and working the V-Stitch in Crochet. We plan to deliver many more videos next year, starting with the atmosphere and 360º videos for our new Spring/Summer collection in just a few weeks! Are there any techniques you'd like to see? You can let us know via social media (links to all our social media platforms are at the bottom of this email), or shoot me a quick message

This week's free pattern is Calafia. This super scarf is super warm but also incredibly lightweght, thanks to Berroco Briza. This chainette yarn features a nylon tube with wool and mohair fibers blown in, creating shimmery shades. Despite the length of this brioche scarf, it weighs next to nothing, making it the perfect winter accessory.
Happy knitting!
