7 new patterns in last spring's most popular yarn
05/09/2017                       #708
A new year means new patterns for last spring's most-popular yarn!

Berroco Mykonos™ has been incredibly popular with knitters and crocheters everywhere, so we're incredibly pleased to bring you new patterns and new colors to this great yarn. We introduced Mykonos last spring, and this blend of linen, nylon, and cotton really resonated with crafters.

This unique, core-wrapped yarn lends an incredible shine and drape to the finished fabric, and really shines in simple, understated pieces such as Odele from Berroco Mykonos Vol 1. This season, we've got four more knitting patterns and two crochet patterns available in booklet #387 Berroco Mykonos Volume 2.

A simple stockinette stitch front and gorgeous lacy back shows off how well Mykonos can perform in a variety of stitches. Galan is knit in pieces and seamed, with split side hems and a classic scoop neck.
Altiplano is a gorgeous summer tee that's easy to knit, with an eye-catching front column and neckband worked in stockinette stitch. The back and remaining front are knit in reverse stockinette stitch, letting the fabric flow.
A simple cardigan is the perfect project for summer knitting, and Medellin fits the bill. Knit from sleeve to center back in pieces, this open-front cardigan gently wraps around the body.
Olca is one of the two crochet patterns from Mykonos Vol 2. Three hanks of Berroco Mykonos are all you need to crochet this gorgeous cowl that is crocheted in the round and long enough to be looped once.
The second crochet project in this collection is Maipo, a long rectangular stole with an asymmetrical crochet pattern. Worked from the center out, this gorgeous piece is a show-stopping summer accessory.
One last summery project rounds out the collection—Azufral is a long cowl or capelet knit in pieces and seamed to accommodate the fun-to-knit stitch pattern, which is worked on the wrong side. You can wear it over your shoulders, as shown, for a lightweight cover up, or drape it more like a cowl around your neck.

This week's free pattern, Paruma, is another crochet pattern for Berroco Mykonos. Two shades of Mykonos are combined in a stripe pattern, while the fabric remains open and airy thanks to a combination of chains and half-double crochet stitches.
