Introducing Berroco Bento
09/26/2017                       #728
We've got another brand new yarn for you today!

Berroco Bento™ is luxurious blend of 80% superwash merino and 20% silk that works up at a heavy worsted or aran gauge. The merino content creates a supersoft fabric with gorgeous drape, while the touch of silk adds a little shine to this two-ply yarn.

This yarn is great for all kinds of projects, from lace and cables to colorwork and simple stockinette stitch. We had a lot of fun experimenting with this yarn in the patterns for Booklet 390 Berroco Bento.

With 13 colors to choose from, Berroco Bento is an ideal choice for whatever your fall wardrobe needs may be.
Audre is a simple sweater knit from the bottom up in the round. A generous collar helps keep out chilly winds. Pair this with jeans or leggings for a casual look, or wide-legged trousers for a more dressy affair.
If you like playing with color, Chandra gives you the opportunity to easily knit a chic scarf with three shades of Berroco Bento. This reversible scarf features fringe that is created as you go.
Berroco Bento is also a great choice for a gorgeous colorwork pullover such as Jhumpa. Knit in the round from the bottom up, this sweater knits quickly, thanks to the larger gauge of the yarn.
If you are in need of super simple gift-knitting ideas (the holiday gift season is right around the corner!), the Sia fingerless mitts are a great option. Knit in the round from the arm to the cuff, these mitts just use two balls of Berroco Bento.
Arundhati shows off how fantastic Berroco Bento can be in both lace and cables, with an easy wavy eyelet pattern framed by a basic four-stitch cable.
And finally, Maxine is the most basic of wardrobe staples—an open-front cardigan with short sleeves is ideal for adding a touch of color without bulky sleeves under an overcoat. This seamless layering piece is knit from the top down.

If you want to dive into knitting with Berroco Bento, you could also work up this sweet hat. Tributary is our free pattern for the week—this knitted hat is worked with an eyelet stitch pattern and topped with an pompom made from Berroco Andean Mist®.
