Wrap yourself in cozy comfort and quickly knit a chunky scarf
Thick, chunky scarves are a great way to quickly warm up as the temperatures start to drop. Whether you're all in for a big muffler-type scarf or just looking for a fairly quick knit, we've got some options for you to whip up right now.
Go big and bold with a yarn such as Berroco Gusto®. You can choose a patterned shade as you see in Wild Violets, or use one of the more muted shades of this super bulky thick-and-thin yarn.
Last year's Keiko scarf uses two colors of Berroco Macro™ in stripes of alternating widths to create an extra-long scarf.
Berroco Ultra® Alpaca Chunky is a great choice for quick, cozy projects, without adding a ton of bulk. Bal Bullier is a free scarf knitting pattern that uses two colors of this popular chunky yarn.
And Mille is a free cowl pattern worked with three shades of Berroco North Star®. This chunky yarn is incredibly lofty and works up quickly in this seed stitch cowl. Download both Mille and Bal Bullier!
We've got even more options for super bulky scarves, shawls, and cowls—see them all (both knit and crochet) at Berroco.com.
This week's free pattern, Fosdyke, is another fun chunky scarf. This simple garter-stitch scarf uses just two hanks of Berroco Macro for the long body, plus one ball of Berroco Suede™ to create long fringe at the ends.
If you love chunky yarn for quick projects, be sure to check out next Tuesday's KnitBits—we've got a great new fall yarn that is perfect for this weather!
