Super soft extrafine merino works up quickly in our newest fall yarn
Berroco Catena™ is an insanely soft yarn for fall. This chunky chainette yarn is 94% extrafine merino wool with just 6% of nylon (to add strength and durability). It's so soft and squishy!
This is an ideal yarn for quick projects—our recommended knitting needle is a US size 11 (8 mm), and our recommended crochet hook is a US size J (6 mm) hook, so you can get started with a project and finish it up quickly. We've got six knitting patterns in Booklet #391 Berroco Catena to get you started.
Usually cabled sweaters feel somewhat heavy and dense, but not so Riasa! This gorgeous sweater is light and lofty, and the yarn shows off the cables and textured stitches perfectly.
Doubled fabric means doubled warmth, and Devora delivers. This cozy cowl is knit in the round with a simple textured stitch pattern for maximum warmth under or over layers.
If you're in a warmer climate or waiting for winter to arrive and just need a simple pullover layer, look no further than Arisha. This long popover tunic is quick and easy to knit, with asymmetrical hems and a squishy funnel neck.

Last but not least, Yeva is a sweet garter stitch shawl worked from end to end. The easy lace border is knit as you work for minimal finishing. Just three balls of Berroco Catena are all you need to have a new shawl for winter.
This week's free pattern is a quick and enjoyable knitted cardigan called Peverly. Knit from the top down with a cozy textured pattern, this open-front cardigan is nearly seamless (just a bit of stitching required at the back neck) with sleeve stitches picked up and knit down.
