If one of your New Year's goals is to learn new crafting technique, Berroco's YouTube channel is here to help.

Someday, maybe transporters will be an actual thing and we can all just meet in a cozy coffee shop to share our knitting knowledge to help you overcome hurdles and tackle projects. But until that day, we're working to create a comprehensive video library that can help you perfect your knitting skills.

In case you missed any, here are some of the most popular videos we published this year! Our most popular how-to video was How to Work the Turkish Cast-on—this simple technique can be used to begin toe-up socks, such as the Hartland Slipper Socks, or top-down mittens.

How to Work the Turkish Cast On
The Hartland Slipper Socks begin with a Turkish cast-on—watch the video to see how it's done!
Our second most-viewed video published this year was How to Work German Short-rows. This technique was used most often to knit the Mrs. Watson Shawl—in fact, we made this video because so many people wanted to use this technique during our Mrs. Watson Knit-along.
How to Work German Short Rows
German short rows are an easy way to work the leaf sections of Martina Behm's Mrs Watson Shawl.
Also popular this year was the How to Catch Floats in Colorwork video. This technique helps to ensure that your floats on the back side of your colorwork projects don't pull in the fabric too much.
Catching Floats for Icelandic Sweaters
We'll be hosting a colorwork sweater knit-along in the new year, so this is an excellent video to bookmark for future reference!
We shared even more videos, including one on understanding just what is meant by "ease" in a garment pattern, how to work two-color brioche (it's easier than you may think), an introduction to working with Plötulopi from our friends at Ístex Lopi yarns, 360º views of our garment patterns that were published this year, and we plan to deliver many more videos next year.

This week's free pattern is Perdita, a cabled-and-textured sweater knit from the bottom up in Berroco Inca® Tweed. The body is worked in the round with a charted cable pattern on the front and easy seed stitch at the back. We have a handy video on how to work a cable without using a cable needle that may help you to quickly knit this sweater!

Which techniques would you like to see demonstrated? We might have a video already in our video library, but we'd love to hear from you!

Happy knitting!
