The first ever Local Yarn Store Day is this Saturday, April 21!
You may have heard of Local Record Store Day, or Local Comic Book Store Day, but now there's one for those of us who like to play with yarn! This Saturday, April 21, is the inaugural Local Yarn Store Day. Organized by the National Needlearts Association (TNNA), Local Yarn Store Day designed to show support for small businesses while bringing together a unique community of knitters, crocheters, weavers, and spinners to drive awareness and celebrate the craft. Yarn companies and yarn stores alike are coming together to showcase the benefits of locally owned yarn stores through an array of special products, classes, and more!
We've provided participating shops that carry Berroco yarns with a limited edition booklet featuring six Berroco patterns in some of your favorite yarns, a $36 value—but only 20 booklets were sent to each shop, so be sure to ask your shop about getting one of the booklets!
Visit your LYS this Saturday, April 21, to take advantage of Local Yarn Store Day and pick up enough Berroco Modern Cotton or Berroco Pima 100 to knit this week's free pattern, Cunningham! This sweet blanket begins with a circular cast-on (refer back to KnitBits 750 and Emily Ocker's Circular Cast-on) before a simple charted lace pattern is worked out in the round. Our sample was knit with Berroco Modern Cotton, but it would be just as fabulous in Berroco Pima 100—see if your local yarn store carries this yarns, then see them in person on Local Yarn Store Day!
Be sure to show off your Local Yarn Store day purchases and tag @berrocoyarn so we can see your new yarns!
