Watch and learn this technique!

Any day now, it's going to be summer in the Northern Hemisphere.

And typically that means lace knitting season! Sure, lace can be gorgeous any time of year, but we find that we gravitate more toward open and airy pieces when the weather is warm and we need all the ventilation we can get (unless you live somewhere like my native Florida, in which case you need warm garments to handle all the air conditioning!).
This week's free pattern, Ledis, uses one of the easiest lace stitches to create an eye-catching detail at the front neck and bottom hems. A double yarnover is just what it sounds like—you wrap the yarn around the needle twice, resulting in a slightly wider eyelet than you would get with a single yarnover. The trick is paying attention to the wraps when you work the wrong-side row.
We've got a video demonstrating how to work the double yarnovers that you'll use to knit Ledis. Please note: this video was originally made for a different pattern, and switches the decrease stitches on either side of the yarnovers from what the Ledis pattern calls for. Everything else, including the important steps on the wrong side row, is worked the same as written in the pattern.
Ledis is knit with Calliope, one of the three new spring shades of Berroco Mykonos®! We've got sixteen colors of Berroco Mykonos to choose from, plus the six colors of Berroco Mykonos Stonewash!

What are you planning to make this summer?

Happy knitting,
