Alison Green has worked for Berroco for five years, but she has a long history with the yarn world! She got her start working in a yarn store, then worked with a yarn company before striking out on her own as an independent designer and technical editor. She joined the Berroco Design Team in 2014 and is currently the Design Department Manager. That title doesn't really encapsulate all that Alison does—she's our technical guru, pattern manager, yarn wrangler, and so much more! She's also a prolific designer and part-time, quasi-reluctant model.
In her time with Berroco, Alison has designed some of our most popular patterns, including Derecho, Esla, Tucker, and Carra. We'll have some photos of Alison modeling her own Esla in the near future, as she's knitting her own version for her upcoming wedding. 😊
Did you know you can search our pattern database by designer? So if you wanted to see more Berroco patterns that Alison has designed, you could go down to the filter for designers and click on "Alison Green".
Alison designed this week's free pattern—Freshwater is a snug beanie knitting pattern designed for Berroco Ultra Alpaca Light. Alison loves to design with cables, so this hat features an eyelet-and-cable pattern that grows from the twisted rib edging.
