Hello Berroco Fan!

As you may know, Berroco has partnered with a few select companies around the world to bring quality yarns to North America. James C. Brett is one of our newest partners, having joined the Berroco family late last year.

James C. Brett has many great patterns for all of their yarns, but we're especially in love with these crocheted animals, made with Flutterby Chunky! The trick is, the patterns are written using crochet terminology from the United Kingdom.

Flutterby Chunky is the perfect yarn for these adorable animals. This 100% polyester chenille yarn is incredibly soft and delightful to hold. And with a range of solid and multicolor shades, you could get really creative making animals as gifts for kids and the young-at-heart.

As a special gift to you, our KnitBits reader, we're offering a FLASH SALE discount on this adorable Rudolf the Reindeer pattern—for this weekend only, you can purchase the PDF for $2.50, or 50% off. Then, find the yarn store nearest you that has Flutterby Chunky so you can get started crocheting! Promotion ends Sunday, July 16, at 11:59 pm EST, so be sure to grab this while you can!
Did you know there's a difference between crochet terms used in the United Kingdom and those used in the United States? Not everyone does! One of our Berroco team members started crocheting the adorable elephant pattern before realizing that the terminology was different than what she'd known.

The difference is simply in what the stitches are called. They're worked in the same way—you can see how to work these stitches in our learning center—and they look the same, but if you get them confused, your crochet projects could turn out much larger (or much smaller, if you're used to British crochet terminology).
The cute and cuddly animal patterns are worked mostly with double crochet, in British terminology. So our team member who started working on the elephant ended up with one that was significantly larger than it was intended! That's okay, it was that much more cuddly.
