This season we've decided to spend two weeks discussing each pattern booklet rather than one. As we delve more deeply into the designs, we'll share background info and tips inspired by the patterns. Ditto, this week's free pattern, is a summertime version of Danielle from Booklet #287 Sundae™. Danielle features knit-in buttonbands but Norah designed Ditto with sewn-on buttonbands which are knit separately and joined to the fronts with mattress stitch. This gives a neat finished appearance but can be intimidating for the less experienced knitter. In this new how-to video, Norah shares her expert advice for sewing on a buttonband.

This week's free pattern, Ditto, has short sleeve, a yoke accented by slimming vertical twisted stitch stripes and a special twist. While we usually show a size small on a size 6 dress form, Ditto is shown here in large on our new size 16 dress form. To see Ditto on Norah, visit our blog.
