We continue our series of video tutorials by explaining a cabled pleat technique that enables you to create tucks and folds that are currently popular in woven fashion. Last week, we introduced the Lustra™ collection from Booklet #289 Lustra™. Lustra is a wool-Tencel® blend that holds the cabled pleats beautifully, creating a folded detail that is defined but not overly bulky. Theyre easy to work and create figure-flattering interest in garments like Locus and Loope. This weeks free pattern also incorporates a cabled pleat detail, this time in a summery linen skirt. Shiroshakar was inspired by seersucker fabrics that have a puckered surface. Theyre designed this way so that they stand away from the skin and are cool and comfortable to wear in the summer heat. This knee-length NaturLin® skirt is gently pleated, high-waisted and finished with a fabric tie.
