Booklet #267Today we will have a look at booklet #267 uptown girl. Inspired by our quietly elegant fancy yarns, Trilogy™ and Memoirs™ our design team created 7 simple silhouettes confirming the shape of things to come for fall/winter 2007-08. Long over short or short over long, layered pieces are sized with extra ease for comfort and modern proportion.

TalagroTarantellaMimosaMontalban
Talagro is a mesh hoodie jacket knit in Trilogy. Shown in charcoal gray, it's perfect for layering over all your essential black underpinnings. Tarantella is an easy cropped v-neck pullover in Trilogy, shown here over a dress. There is plenty of ease to accommodate layers. Mimosa is an elongated version of Tarantella knit in Memoirs. Montalban, a jacket knit in Trilogy, fastens with a single hook and eye below the bust for an empire look. This piece is a perfect transitional layer over sleeveless summer darks.
Machu PicchuMonroviaMilanoPeoria
In Machu Picchu, a dramatically simple coat in Trilogy is transformed by a voluptuous, ribbed neck cowl in matching Peruvia. Monrovia is a simple scarf or shawl knit in a tube on circular needles in Memoirs. Milano Is the ultra easy shrug version, also knit in Memoirs. It's simply one rectangle with two short seams. Peoria, knit in Peruvia™, is a pair of easy ribbed arm warmers.

SadieBordeaux
This week our free patterns are Sadie and Bordeaux. Both are cardigans knit in Softwist. Sadie has a lovely corrugated shawl collar and fitted ribbed waist. Bordeaux is a slimming surplice wrap that closes with a single knot at the front.

READER'S Q & A

Stevie from cyberspace wrote: "I was so excited by the KnitBits, introducing all your new yarns and patterns for Fall. I want to get started right away with knitting my new fall wardrobe. I rushed to my LYS with my wishlist in hand and found that the pattern books have not arrived yet. Please tell me when you will ship them to the stores."

Stevie, you are among many of our readers who are eager to get started knitting for fall. The presses are rolling as I am writing this letter. We will begin shipping books to the stores this week.

All the best,
